How the X-axis lies — pick a chart shape, pick a mode, watch it transform.
Every "hockey stick" chart is just a chart with a flat-looking left side and a steep right side. The cheapest way to fake one is to lie about the X-axis. Take any star history, then quietly stretch the timeline backwards (or forwards) so the date when the repo crossed 50% of its current stars lands at ~98% of the chart's width.
